Managing Consultant, Environmental Remediation

Description

• Oversee large-scale remediation programs with significant stakeholder engagement.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with clients and ERM colleagues.
• Coach and mentor junior staff, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor and develop junior consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Drive project execution using best practices in scope, schedule, and budget management.
• Prepare technical proposals and actively participate in business development initiatives.
• Prepare critical project documentation, including feasibility studies, remedial action plans, design documents, and progress reports.
• Lead high-profile remediation projects for major transportation clients, delivering excellence in technical execution and stakeholder engagement.
• Shape environmental strategies through innovative solutions and best practices in project and program management.
• Deliver exceptional client service and identify opportunities for business expansion.
• Build lasting client relationships and identify new opportunities to expand ERM’s footprint in Northern California.
• Manage and provide technical expertise on remediation projects with complex technical and regulatory challenges.

Requirements

• Prior environmental consulting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline. Or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience in complex site investigation/remediation projects, with a focus on project/program controls management.
• Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and client relationship skills.
• Advanced knowledge of California regulatory frameworks (CERCLA, RWQCB, DTSC, CUPAs) and strong negotiation skills with regulators.
• This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
• Professional Certification in California (or ability to obtain within one year).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project scheduling tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including senior management, clients, and regulators.
• PMP or PgMP certification.
• Demonstrated success in business development for large programs/contracts.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large, long-term remediation programs.
• Master’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, construction management, or related discipline.
