  • Listens to understand the needs of customers (internal and external). Builds trusting relationships and seeks innovative solutions for all customers. Always has the customer’s needs top of mind.
  • Develop a manufacturing team to provide exceptional customer service by providing the required quantities of products at the lowest possible cost and highest quality while maintaining a safe work environment. Specific duties include employee development/training, plant scheduling, interviewing, hiring/firing, customer contact, root cause analysis, financial tracking, safety implementation, supplier evaluation, and process improvement.
  • Influences others and empowers team to execute efficiently.
  • Inventory control. This involves releasing all raw materials, supplies, and finished goods. The Plant Manager is also responsible for implementation of an inventory audit procedure to ensure accurate inventories are maintained at all times.
  • Managing Change
  • Continuously monitor compliance with all environmental permits pertaining to the manufacturing process and facility.
  • Interaction with the rest of the company. Work with purchasing, environmental, health & safety, engineering, human resources, and corporate staff. The Plant Manager will be called upon to be the local expert for their plant regarding these topics.
  • Oversight and leadership of the Lean Manufacturing journey in the plant. This includes leveraging the Carlisle Operating System (COS) to drive daily, incremental improvement in all aspects of the site. Additionally, strong emphasis on employee engagement, capacity improvement, visual management, and advanced manufacturing techniques are required for success in this role.
  • Creating an environment for success among supervisory and production employees. It is pertinent that the Plant Manager convey an attitude that is positive and confident. He/she must direct the staff to achieve their highest level of performance while treating them with respect and dignity.
  • Builds trust with others by encouraging open dialogue and collaboration. Seeks diverse perspectives to create stronger solutions.

  • Financial and accounting familiarity including budgeting, cost control, financial data and project justification and ACE Process.
  • Retains a mindset of always striving to make things better. Applies continuous improvement tools and processes to every aspect of the role.
  • ISO9001/14001 experience a plus
  • Exposure to materials used in the manufacture of polyisocyanurate products including polyols, MDI, facers of various types, various additives, plastics, cardboard packaging, wood, etc.
  • Able to keep on track despite difficulties or barriers that may be encountered. Addresses conflict to find common ground solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or business-related area such as accounting or finance is highly desired. Will consider work experience and proven track record of increasing responsibility that includes leadership in lieu of a degree.
  • Familiarity with various measurement devices used in a manufacturing and laboratory setting such as micrometers, viscometers, calipers, tape measures, etc.
  • Occasional travel to other facilities for meetings or training, typically no more than 15%
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and products as well as quality systems and associated literacy of SPC, SOP’s, process specifications etc.
  • Overall understanding of the logistics process including raw material and finished goods shipments and customer service.

  • 10 + years of experience in a manufacturing position or one that is closely associated with plant operations is highly desired.
  • Efficient problem-solving skills and ability to work in stressful work situations.
  • Understands individual strengths and opportunity areas and seeks development opportunities to leverage strengths and lean into opportunity areas. Open to both giving and receiving feedback.
  • Knowledge of government regulations as they relate to people, plant and process operations such as FMLA, OSHA, FLSA, ADA, Worker’s Comp, EPA and unemployment.
  • Computer equipment and general office equipment such as phones, copiers, camera, projectors, etc.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to effectively delegate to subordinates and others in supporting roles.
  • Ability to function in a team environment, work well with others, handles multiple priorities and projects are necessary.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working in an ERP system, preferably SAP
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to speak in front of groups and make effective presentations.
