Dogwood Industries is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Production Planning Manager to lead the work order planning function across our engineer-to-order manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for managing a team of planners and ensuring that planning processes support efficient production execution for large, custom metal structures. The Production Planning Manager serves as a key liaison between Projects, Engineering, Design, Procurement, and Production to ensure alignment, data accuracy, and timely execution in the ERP system.
- Oversee the creation and release of work orders in the ERP system to support production requirements
- Verify that all supporting documentation (e.g., drawings, specifications, BOMs) is correctly released
- Act as the production planning point of contact for escalations, problem-solving, and coordination across functions
- Oversee day-to-day work of the staff, including coaching, delegation, and performance management
- Establish, document, and enforce production planning-related policies to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment across Dogwood
- Ensure routing templates are accurate and aligned with production practices and capacity constraints
- Maintain high standards for ERP data accuracy related to routings, production steps, and material usage
- Promote cross-training and skills development within the planning team to ensure continuity and resilience in daily operations
- Supervise and develop the planning team, promoting accountability, cross-training, and performance management
- Partner with the Master Project Scheduler to provide planning data and insights that support accurate scheduling and load balancing
- Coordinate closely with Sedro-Woolley and Everett production teams to ensure planning supports project execution across sites
- Track and approve routing updates to drive continuous improvement or changes in shop floor processes
- Set team priorities, establish expectations, and coordinate cross-departmental handoffs to align with broader operational goals

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for process improvement and a desire to build systems from the ground up. They should bring strong leadership skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment. In addition to day-to-day planning oversight, this role develops and enforces planning policies, sets departmental KPIs, and ensures that planning efforts support project schedules. This is a pivotal role in aligning planning activities with Dogwood’s strategic goals and enabling growth through operational excellence.
Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentThis position requires light physical activity in an office environment. To perform the essential functions of this job, the employee is regularly seated at a computer desk with the option to stand, is utilizing a phone frequently and participating in meetings with colleagues. There are steps in the office.
This is an onsite position at the Dogwood Everett Factory at 3200 35th Ave NE, Everett, WA 98201. Travel to Dogwood’s Bothell Corporate office or Sedro-Woolley Factory office, as needed.
- All employees are subject to a pre-employment background check and pre-employment and random drug testing. Due to working in / being exposed to a safety sensitive environment, THC testing will occur as part of all drug screens.

- Proficiency working in an ERP/MRP system
- High attention to detail and ability to manage transactional data
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Design, Procurement, and Production teams
- Applicants must provide complete work history with employer references for last three to five years.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, production planning, or a related role
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow standard work instructions
- Basic understanding of capacity planning concepts is a plus
Benefits
$90,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
