Ensure proper compaction and smoothness of asphalt during and after application.
Maintain a clean and safe work zone by clearing debris and adhering to safety guidelines.
Shovel, rake, and level hot mix asphalt.
Follow instructions from foremen and other supervisors.
Directs traffic near, in, or around work zones.
Support the paving machine by feeding asphalt and maintaining a consistent workflow.
Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment: Constantly
Assist in the preparation of surfaces for paving (sweeping, cleaning, applying tack coat, etc.)
Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment at the job site.
Adjusting, moving and lifting objects in all directions: Constantly
Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like: Occasionally
Operate hand tools and small equipment (e.g., plate compactors, tampers, brooms).
Perform daily equipment and tool checks and maintenance as needed.
