Scout's Network Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the network infrastructure supporting our renewable energy power plants, remote operations center, and corporate office. This role requires technical expertise in multiprotocol networks, multilayer switches, next-generation firewalls, and central management systems.
Our ideal candidate will be able to commute to our Boulder office on a 3/2 hybrid schedule.
Our network environment consists of Palo Alto, Fortinet, and Cisco networking devices, with WAN connectivity via IPSec tunnels and SD-WAN solutions. The ideal candidate will leverage automation and monitoring tools to maintain high availability and ensure SLAs are met. They should also be comfortable navigating change management processes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust network solutions.
- Ability to prioritize and deliver top-quality work product in multiple areas in a fast-paced work environment without direct supervision.
- Strong background in Palo Alto firewall administration.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds).
- Familiarity with BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF routing protocols.
- Certifications in Palo Alto, or Cisco (or equivalent training).
- Strong experience with WAN solutions and communication protocols.
- Ability to inspire confidence and create trust at all levels across an organization.
- Expertise in network switching and firewall technologies.
- Proven track record implementing WAN solutions (DIA, MPLS, SD-WAN, etc.).
- 4+ years of enterprise networking experience.
- Strong project management, process development, and team-building skills. Experience working with cross-functional internal and external technical advisors and stakeholders.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Experience with Cisco or SEL or other OT switches.
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking solutions.
- High emotional IQ - very strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- CCNP Certification
- Authorized to work in the United States.

Benefits
Target base salary: $75,000-110,000 depending on experience. (Negotiable for the right candidate.) Attractive bonus potential.
