The Logistics Coordinator role is based in Chicago, IL and supports the Rochelle, IL facility. The position is responsible for managing and optimizing plant logistics operations in a fast‑paced environment, requiring strong organization and problem‑solving skills.
Key duties include dispatching and scheduling truck loads, arranging delivery appointments, and using the TMS, email and phone to meet customer fill‑rate requirements. The coordinator maintains carrier relationships, maximizes shipment efficiency, seeks cost‑saving opportunities, and coordinates with warehouses and the shipping department to improve loading efficiency. Regular communication with managers, sales, and operations, as well as adherence to health and safety practices and full‑time onsite attendance, are also required.
Candidates should have an associate’s degree (preferred) and at least two years of logistics experience. Required skills include excellent verbal and written communication, strong data management and analytical abilities, high attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. The role demands the ability to work independently, multitask, and attend full‑time onsite work daily.
