Join South East Water's IT team as a Solutions Analyst, acting as the technical bridge to the Scientific Services department and overseeing the ThermoFisher LIMS suite that drives water testing operations. By translating complex analytical requirements into reliable workflows, you will help ensure compliance with Drinking Water Inspectorate standards and protect public health for millions of customers.
Key duties include running workshops and one‑to‑one sessions with laboratory staff, designing and configuring LIMS modules, developing code, ad‑hoc queries and reports, and executing rigorous testing to guarantee right‑first‑time delivery. You will also analyse change impact, manage the change control process, provide 2nd and 3rd line support, train end‑users, mentor junior IT colleagues, coordinate with third‑party suppliers and internal teams for upgrades, maintain up‑to‑date documentation, and participate in an on‑call rota for critical outages.
The role requires a degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field (or equivalent experience), ITIL certification, and proven expertise with Laboratory Information Management Systems such as ThermoFisher SampleManager. Strong coding skills in VGL, C#/.NET, advanced SQL knowledge, and the ability to translate scientific processes into technical specifications are essential, along with experience across the full software development lifecycle, supplier management, system integration, formal change control, and 2nd/3rd line support.
To apply, submit your CV via the company's careers website. Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK and will be subject to background, identity and employment reference checks. Recruitment agencies should only engage with explicit invitation from the HR Resourcing team.
The benefits package includes an excellent Stakeholder pension with up to 10% employer contribution, 5–6 weeks of holiday plus bank holidays, flexible leave options, paid volunteering days, a cycle‑to‑work scheme, health cash plan, life assurance and wellbeing initiatives. The salary range is £40,000–£55,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
