The crew chief will supervise a survey team, enforce safety protocols, and maintain high‑quality work standards while coordinating with engineers, other surveyors, and project managers to meet project requirements.
Field work will involve operating total stations, GPS equipment, terrestrial scanners, unmanned aerial systems, and levels, as well as ensuring routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of all surveying instruments and the assigned work truck.
Accurate field notes, sketches, images, and reports will be prepared, and comprehensive quality‑control procedures will be applied to all survey data and documentation.
Wilson & Company is hiring a skilled Survey Crew Chief for its Kansas City, MO office to lead a variety of survey assignments throughout the Midwest, including horizontal and vertical control, ROW and boundary retracements, DOT projects, and railroad and municipal surveys.
Candidates must have at least four years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief, a valid driver’s license, strong leadership and communication skills, and a proven record of delivering precise survey data; familiarity with Trimble equipment and an FAA Part 107 UAS pilot license are preferred.
The position offers mentorship and advancement opportunities, daily per‑diem at GSA rates for travel away from Kansas City, paid travel time, company‑paid lodging, and a salary range of $30‑$40 per hour depending on experience.
