The Vector Control Supervisor oversees vector control and an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program for an assigned area of responsibility. The role limits potential exposure of site personnel to injury and disease from pest‑borne vectors and applies preventative medicine and health promotion principles to optimize staff health and wellness.
Key activities include evaluating site conditions such as buildings, supplies, and surrounding terrain to identify and mitigate pest‑related hazards, partnering with HSE team members to run health promotion campaigns, and providing education and training to site personnel on hazard avoidance. The supervisor coordinates with veterinary site representatives and DoD personnel for feral animal trapping and pesticide/herbicide application, and may supply data to Automated Information Systems while ensuring hazardous materials are handled in compliance with company and site requirements.
Additional duties involve monitoring sanitation practices, educating staff on exclusion and personal protection measures against flies, biting insects, rodents, ants, and other arthropod pests, and enforcing safe work practices for subordinates. The supervisor ensures team members are properly trained, communicates project status and issues to site management and functional leaders, completes all administrative requirements, and adheres to host national regulatory guidance, DoDI 4150.07‑DoD, and TB MED 561.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent education/experience) and at least four years of related experience. The role requires intermediate English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking, as well as DoD certification in Core Phase Categories 6, 7, and 8 or an equivalent U.S. commercial license.
