Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer

Description

The role involves supporting project managers on geotechnical consulting projects and acting as a field representative. Responsibilities include subsurface explorations, field testing, data and sample collection, construction site monitoring, and preparing compiled reports.

Requirements

The position requires working on rough terrain typical of construction sites and may involve travel to various field locations. Candidates must have their own transportation and a valid driver’s license.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with strong geotechnical focus (master’s preferred).
• 0–2 years of practical geotechnical engineering experience, internships acceptable.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiar with common geotechnical engineering software tools.
• Ability to operate firm’s field‑testing equipment, including nuclear gauge.
• Skilled in preparing accurate daily field and boring logs and reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Flexible work style; capable of independent and team collaboration.
• Strong analytical and judgment skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel; own transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Availability for both field and office assignments as needed.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $73,000 annually.
