Operations Supervisor

Description

The Operations Manager role directs daily operations to deliver safe, efficient, and cost‑effective facility services to clients and building occupants. It supports field operations, tracks performance metrics, and collaborates with other Operations Managers to maintain consistency across regions while streamlining projects and processes.

This position is central to maintaining operational excellence and aligns with JLL’s commitment to exceptional facility management services.

• Communicate owner/landlord processes to engineers and contractors for building infrastructure work.
• Identify and implement policy, procedure and best‑practice updates.
• Detect safety hazards and work with EH&S and account teams to remediate risks.
• Manage refrigerant purchases and tracking for compliance and cost control.
• Gather data for business reporting and monitor SLA performance.
• Track work orders in Corrigo and manage Not‑to‑Exceed (NTE) limits.
• Oversee staffing, performance and development of technical teams, including reviews and policy compliance.
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing and onboarding of technicians.

Requirements

The role is based on‑site in Benton Harbor, Grand Rapids, Holland, or Traverse City, Michigan, working standard business hours and does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of technical experience in building engineering, specializing in packaged HVAC, refrigeration and maintenance.
• Strong organizational, multi‑tasking and management skills.
• Valid driver’s license and Universal EPA certification.
• Excellent interpersonal, supervisory and customer‑service abilities.
• Strong analytical, detail‑oriented approach.
• 8+ years of relevant building‑engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Office Suite.
• Experience in overall HVAC system design and applications.
• Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic work environments and adapt to change.
• Customer‑focused mindset.
