The operator is responsible for safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of plant equipment and pipelines, rapid emergency response, updating procedures, troubleshooting, and coordinating non‑routine jobs through the control room. Duties also include preparing equipment for maintenance, enforcing housekeeping, maintaining HSE records, assisting maintenance with work orders in Maximo, and participating in HSE inspections and committees.
- Achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operations of all plant equipment and connecting pipelines.
- Identify and respond quickly to emergency situations and unit upsets.
- Update operating procedures as needed and follow Emergency Response Procedures.
- Troubleshoot process equipment, communicate with outside operators, and coordinate non‑routine jobs through the control room.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance, ensuring lock‑out/tag‑out, PPE, confined‑space entry, and environmental standards.
- Maintain housekeeping and clean hazardous areas in assigned units.
- Continuously improve skills, learn new systems, and report health, safety, security, or environmental incidents.
- Enter work order requests in Maximo and assist the maintenance department with general maintenance tasks.
- Participate in plant HSE inspections and serve on the Plant HS&E Committee.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information.

Candidates must hold at least a 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate (3rd Class considered an asset), have 5‑10 years of process plant operations experience—preferably in gas/liquids extraction or NGL fractionation—and possess DCS or control panel experience. Additional requirements include the ability to read operating manuals and P&IDs, quick response to deviations, knowledge of environmental and safety impacts, certifications in H2S Alive, First Aid, CPR, Confined Space Entry, and computer proficiency.
- Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate (3rd Class considered an asset).
- 5–10 years of process plant operations experience, preferably in gas/liquids extraction or NGL fractionation.
- Experience with DCS or control panels.
- Ability to read and interpret operating manuals and plant P&IDs.
- Strong ability to identify and respond to operating deviations to maintain safety and minimize downtime.
- Understanding of environmental, health, safety, and security risks.
- Certifications: H2S Alive, First Aid, CPR, Confined Space Entry.
- Computer literacy considered an asset.
