The technician assembles and installs instrumentation equipment such as transmitters, gauges, and analyzers, and applies proper techniques for Swagelok, Parker, or other compression fittings. Additional duties involve hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure testing, coordinating with instrument technicians, electricians, and engineers for system integration, and complying with HSE policies and quality standards. Accurate records of installations, modifications, and maintenance activities are maintained, and any defects or unsafe conditions are reported promptly.
Mako Industries is seeking a skilled and safety‑conscious Instrument Fitter / Tubing Technician for its Sugar Land, TX location. The role involves installing, assembling, and maintaining instrumentation systems and tubing on industrial sites. Work focuses on small‑bore tubing, fittings, valves, and instruments to ensure leak‑free, efficient performance according to project specifications and industry standards.
Qualified candidates have proven experience as an Instrument Fitter / Tubing Technician in industrial or process environments and can read technical drawings including P&IDs, loop diagrams, and tubing isometrics. They are skilled in manual and hydraulic tube bending, cutting, deburring, and flaring, and possess knowledge of instrument fittings, valves, and supports such as Swagelok and Parker. An understanding of process instrumentation and control systems, familiarity with HSE standards, and the physical ability to work at heights or in confined spaces are also required.
