Attend and serve as staff/representative for pre-design, pre-bid, and pre-construction meetings related to assigned projects.
Provide technical and professional guidance to staff, work crews, consultants, and others on topics related to code interpretation, material standards, design and engineering drawings, specifications, plan interpretations, installation procedures, and construction methods.
Perform a variety of project related activities including, but not limited to, preparation and review of construction contracts; conduct pre-construction conferences; approval of time schedules; review and approve pay requests; evaluate and approve change orders; solve construction problems; perform final inspection and project close out duties.
Lead all efforts related to long-range planning of multiple major projects.
Identify complex problems and devise optimal and innovative solutions to problems that often cross organizational boundaries.
Use judgement in making trades off (staff and budgets) to achieve company goals.
Enter time accurately daily and completes projects on budget.
Travel to jobsites of assigned engineering projects; note work progress and possible problem areas; report findings to supervisory staff as necessary; resolve project problems by reviewing and commenting on proposed modifications of design, construction change orders, and related methods.
Riding in a hoist and/or in a swing stage to be performed under strict adherence to the OSHA standards. Climbing ladders and scaffolds to be performed under strict adherence to the OSHA standards.
Escalate, in a timely manner, potential conflicts/issues that may affect project deliverables.
Strictly adheres to the office standards, policies, and project schedules. Informs, in a timely manner, project manager and/or supervisor regarding any conflicts/issues that relate to his/her work.
Negotiate complex agreements with other groups/teams, contractors, developers, and other clients.
Oversee key project deliverables, including oversight of project specifications, conformance with established construction/engineering practices and applicable codes, project status, on-time delivery, and budgeting.

Advanced knowledge of construction inspection.
Must be able to use right and left foot for repetitive movements as in operating controls or levers.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds at times.
Possession of a valid State of Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation required.
Must be able to ride in a hoist and/or swing stage.
Proven ability to provide efficient customer service and communicate clearly and objectively.
Full dexterity of wrists and fingers required with repetitive motions.
Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of architecture and building systems design.
Proven ability to lead and engage teams.
Ability to look at a computer for up to 8 hours per day.
Safety equipment, including but not limited to hard hat, OSHA approved footwear, safety glasses and safety vests, is always required while performing job functions on active construction sites. Safety gloves, ear plugs, and safety harness will be issued when appropriate.
English proficiency: Fluent (Speak, read, understand, interpret content and write).
Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, or documented combination of education and professional experience in related engineering field.
Ability to stand upright for up to 8 hours per day.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Advanced knowledge of engineering project management and budget controls.
Proven ability to anticipate problems and negotiate solutions.
Ability to sit with back at a 90-degree angle for up to 8 hours per day.
4-7 years of post-degree work experience, which must have involved construction, design, inspection or estimating.
Must be able to see near, in the distance, color, depth, and range.
Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, laying, crawling, and twisting required up to 30% of the time in this role.
Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas (uneven terrain, exposure to outdoor weather elements)
Registered Architect and/or General Contractor license preferred.
