Essential functions include safely performing new construction, maintenance, and repair work on both energized and de‑energized transmission lines. Duties involve stringing overhead wire, setting poles and anchors, assisting with the installation of transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear, as well as replacing fuses, clearing faulted circuits, and maintaining company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
Position requirements demand rigorous physical labor, the ability to lift over 50 lb, and competence in working at heights or in confined spaces. Candidates must hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License, understand basic rigging, hand lines, lineman knots, Kellum grips, and equipment grounding, and be familiar with heavy equipment operation, company radio use, and PPE inspection. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, talking or hearing, and extensive use of hands for handling, feeling, and reaching. Employees must regularly perform tasks that require strength, stamina, and coordination.
Other required abilities include self‑motivation, teamwork, and a customer‑oriented attitude, along with strict adherence to company safety rules and policies.
