Collaborate with electrical and site teams to ensure system integration
Support prototype development and testing
Selection of catalogue components like insulators, heat sink, mechanical accessories, sealing components, fasteners, etc.
Design of air ducts or water circuit to suit requirement specifications of customer
Participate in design reviews and support customer interactions for technical discussions
Design and development of heatsinks, cooling plates, moulded components, low inductive busbars and insulating parts
Mechanical design of traction, auxiliary converters (Locomotive, EMU, Metro)
Prepare detailed design documentation, NOMs and manufacturing drawings
Conceptualization, design, development, validation and smooth introduction of new design of traction and auxiliary converters as per customer specification
Design of mechanical housings for onboard, underslung and roof mounted applications (Locomotive, EMU, Metro)

Good communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of weld design, GD&T, tolerance analysis along with tools and techniques like A3, 8D, fishbone analysis, etc.
Experience in design of welded, riveted, glued sheet metal constructions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Hypermesh, Ansys / NX Nastran, AutoCAD, SAP
Knowledge of manufacturing processes
Experience in computational validation methods like FEA, CFD
Understanding electrical circuit diagram and realizing the same in 3D modelling arrangement of electrical and associated mechanical components
Should have minimum experience of 2-5 years along with bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Experience in air-cooled and water-cooled technologies (both module and converter level)
In depth knowledge of various IEC, EN and IS standards with respect to design, validation, testing, product safety, etc.
Clear understanding of manufacturing processes and suitable design of components to achieve DTC and DFM requirements
Knowledge in designing converter cabinet and components for traction applications along with their test specifications
