The role involves creating and managing detailed electrical 3D BIM models that remain accurate throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with technical and design teams to develop and maintain company‑wide BIM standards, procedures, and protocols. The specialist will lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination meetings, resolve complex design issues, provide hands‑on support for the BIM software suite, and oversee the enterprise digital design library, including families, templates, and Dynamo scripts.
Additional responsibilities include evaluating project deliverables for compliance with BIM execution plans and client requirements, interfacing directly with clients to define BIM deliverables, leveraging analytics to promote continuous improvement, and training and mentoring project teams in BIM best practices. Staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies allows the specialist to recommend tools and methodologies that advance STV’s BIM capabilities.
STV is seeking a Senior Electrical BIM Specialist for its Water Practice in Texas, providing leadership, technical guidance, and mentorship in building information modeling (BIM). The ideal candidate combines strong technical acumen with managerial skills to facilitate smooth design, coordination, and construction workflows while optimizing project quality and productivity.
Candidates must hold an associate degree or higher and possess at least 10 years of AEC industry experience focused on BIM for electrical engineering and process mechanical design. Required skills include advanced proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud, strong interpersonal and leadership abilities, excellent organization and coordination, and a demonstrated passion for mentoring junior staff. Preferred qualifications are experience with Plant3D or OpenPlant/OpenBuildings Designer, professional BIM Management certification, and knowledge of construction scheduling and estimating practices.
