  • Perform emergency and other work without direct supervision.

  • Under general supervision, does the most complicated construction and maintenance work on energized conductors, structures and equipment.

  • Technical Skills
  • Must be able to qualify for required license for vehicles driven.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the layout and characteristics of the transmission and distribution lines in the area to which he is assigned and a working knowledge of electrical fundamentals as related to the construction, operation and maintenance of such lines.
  • Be agile
  • Performs work as qualified in accordance with the Single Worker Bucket Crews MOA (parts (C.) 1.and 2.).
  • Must be willing to work irregular and/or extra hours as required.
  • Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
  • Strength and endurance adequate for arduous labor in all kinds of outdoor weather conditions.
  • Should have had at least two years' experience as First-Class Lineman.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with Company's Electrical and Mechanical Tagging Rules.
  • Normal health, physique and use of senses as indicated by passing the required physical examination given by a Company Physician, including color perception.
  • Must be able to effectively plan work.
  • Must be able to meet public in pleasant and tactful manner.
  • Must be able to perform operations of considerable complexity and variety where standard methods of procedure are available. Equivalent to 4 years of high school; or 2 years of high school plus 2years apprenticeship or trade school training.
  • Must be familiar with Company's Safety Rules, approved Methods of Resuscitation on or off the ground. and able to render practical First Aid.
  • connect or disconnect electric and/or gas meters (if OQ Qualified for Gas)
  • Must work a 12-hour rotating shift.
  • Must be capable of making and holding to decisions with fairness.
  • Must be capable of, and willing to assume supervisory responsibilities.
  • Must be willing to work under unusual or special working conditions and surroundings, as well as the normal working conditions pertaining to this job.
