A fully integrated global real estate firm developing, investing in and managing rental housing, logistics and life‑science assets.
The Maintenance Technician role oversees and performs technical and mechanical work to ensure that interiors, exteriors, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. The position is assigned to a stabilized garden‑style community of 340 units, working Monday‑Friday with a rotating on‑call schedule.
Key duties include responding to resident work orders, diagnosing and repairing defects, and managing the make‑ready process for vacant units by inspecting, creating punch lists, scheduling vendors, completing repairs, and verifying finished work. The technician also develops and enforces cleanliness standards for the community, inspects work performed by staff and contractors, maintains inventory of spare parts, executes monthly preventative maintenance, and implements cost‑saving measures by repairing rather than replacing components.
The hourly wage ranges from $30.00 to $33.00, with additional compensation determined by factors such as experience, skills, and location. Depending on the position type, employees may be eligible for quarterly, monthly, or annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance.
Benefits for full‑time employees include competitive medical, dental, vision, and disability coverage, low employee‑only medical costs, generous paid time off (15 vacation days, 4 personal days, 10 sick days, and 11 holidays plus a birthday off after one year), a 401(k) match up to 6%, paid parental leave, a lifetime fertility benefit up to $10,000, a six‑week paid sabbatical after ten years of service, and various supplemental plans such as pet insurance and legal assistance. On‑site staff may also receive discounted housing at Greystar‑managed communities.
