The role involves reviewing shop drawings and submittals, performing value and constructability analysis, recommending cost‑saving methods, and ensuring compliance with specifications. The engineer attends and records project team meetings, prepares weekly progress reports, updates schedules, assists in bidding, and coordinates with superintendents on shop drawing reviews and milestones. Additional duties include maintaining logs, advising on concrete pours and reinforcement inspections, coordinating testing, reviewing field procedures, sampling work, and promoting production efficiency while adhering to safety policies.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and project plans for compliance, value, and constructability.
- Recommend labor‑saving and cost‑effective construction methods.
- Attend and document project team, owner/architect, and subcontractor meetings; distribute minutes.
- Publish weekly progress reports and update project schedules as needed.
- Assist in bidding processes and develop scopes of work for trade contractors.
- Coordinate with superintendents on shop drawing reviews, material approvals, and milestone scheduling.
- Maintain logs of shop drawing status, clarification requests, change orders, and proposals.
- Advise on concrete pour procedures, inspect structural reinforcement, and oversee testing compliance.
- Review field installation of structural elements and conduct work sampling to improve efficiency.
- Enforce safety policies, report unsafe conditions, and ensure OSHA compliance.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field (or equivalent experience), have at least one year of commercial construction experience, and possess strong written and oral communication skills. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and scheduling software is preferred, along with the ability to read blueprints, understand OSHA requirements, and demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, integrity, and problem‑solving abilities.
