Develop the regional H&S training plan and support the roll out of modules
To assist with the development, management and implementation of agreed processes and procedures through the Equinix GDC business, inc. Supply chain partners and vendors in accordance with GDC policy, principles, and standards
To lead and integrate H&S across the functional elements of the Commercial, Design and Construction in region/portfolio, driving a culture of prevention and resilience
Identifies processes to be audited based on set criteria and controls
Reports any findings to management and relevant stakeholders, providing guidance with audit findings, escalation and mitigation within the region / hub / country
To enable the assessment, management, and mitigation of risk in accordance with regulation and best practice
Supports the Global Senior Director, Construction Health & Safety in the development and delivery of the functional strategic objectives, actions and performance metrics
Engagement & influence of identified business and industry stakeholders inc. Key customers and subsidiaries
Determines time bound corrective action with hubs construction leads and ensures they are satisfactorily met
Defines and maintains audit criteria and controls based on industry and Equinix updates and best practices
Works collaboratively with the Operations Compliance function in the pursuit of continuous improvement and seamless handover pre/post-handover
Timely and effective escalation of non-compliance, incidents and any other situation that has the likelihood of causing reputational damage to Equinix, its customers and or 3rd parties
To position, promote and protect the Equinix brand in relation to health & safety, enabling the full roll out the strategic H&S pillars and reporting on their compliance in all respects
Is the primary point of contact with regulatory and enforcing authorities for and on behalf of the region/matrix portfolio
Responsible for audit vendor management as assigned
Oversees coordination of site level compliance audits (internal and external)

Ownership of country/site specific certification, as required
10+ years of construction, developer, or high-risk industry H&S experience is preferred
Excellent knowledge of OSHA health and safety legislation, guidance and other industry requirements in the Americas
This role requires frequent travel across the Americas and portfolio project locations
Familiar with standard H&S concepts, practices, and procedures across a regional portfolio
Self-starter with demonstrable experience of ensuring policy and standards are enforced
Strong communication and presentation skills required, with ability to influence and drive new ideas at the executive level
BSc / MSc degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or equivalent education (Level 6 Diploma) and operational experience
Proven ability to work through other functions and personnel to deliver goals and objectives in a matrix organisational structure
Competent in the use of MS tools
Able to challenge, influencing and mediate to deliver results in high pressure environments
Business level English is required, with a second language i.e. Spanish is desirable
Recognized HSE professional qualifications and professional memberships appropriate for the role
