Logistics & Quality Specialist

Description

Job Summary: The role maintains and coordinates material deliveries from international suppliers to local warehouses and project yards, manages inventory tracking, optimization, cycle counting, and warranty support, and collaborates with third‑party logistics providers and warehousing leads to ensure safety, cost‑effectiveness, timely delivery, and quality.

• Control inventory levels and ensure on-time delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
• Build and maintain the master production schedule using forecasts, demand, material availability, and equipment capacity.
• Review, identify, and minimize obsolete inventory.
• Monitor and evaluate customer schedules, supplier schedules, logistics routes, and shipping performance.
• Assist in preparing departmental budgets and strategic initiatives.
• Procure components, raw materials, tooling, and capital equipment at lowest total cost while considering quality, delivery, and reliability.
• Participate in supplier quality resolution, including replacement planning, defect returns, and parts disposition.
• Solicit and analyze supplier quotes to support operational needs.
• Maintain knowledge of market conditions, sources of supply, and procurement regulations.

Requirements

Testing Required: Not Applicable. On‑Site Role: Must be available to work on‑site at the assigned location. Emergency Response: Yes – you must be ready to support DTE’s primary response to storms or events that impact customer service.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Candidates may satisfy the requirement with a bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or economics plus six years of project or supply‑chain management (or quality auditing), or an associate degree with eight years of experience, or a high‑school diploma/GED with ten years of relevant experience.

• Lean Six Sigma certification (Black Belt, Green Belt, or Yellow Belt).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and international trade compliance (Incoterms, tariffs, documentation).
• Experience conducting supplier audits and managing performance across supply chain, logistics, or project management.
• Strong supplier relationship management skills to build effective partnerships.
• High attention to detail for accurate logistics, inventory, and documentation management.
• Familiarity with basic accounting principles for cost control and financial accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, SharePoint).
• Ability to visualize data and create reports using Power BI and ThinkCell.
• Advanced presentation design and delivery skills for executive‑level, data‑driven slides.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting, presenting, and influencing senior leadership.
• Proficiency with business software (Maximo, SAP, Microsoft Office) with minimal guidance.
• Advanced analytical and problem‑solving abilities to identify issues and recommend optimal solutions.
• Effective meeting facilitation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Highly organized planning skills to manage multiple priorities and maintain composure under pressure.
• Flexibility and adaptability to shifting priorities, fostering idea exchange and continuous improvement.
• Ability to constructively resolve resistance and prevent recurring issues.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
