Description

In addition to participating in technical delivery and client relationship management, you will also support our structural capability. This includes leading the development of our in‑house analysis tools, mentoring junior staff, and driving business development with existing and new clients.

• Lead development of in‑house structural analysis capability and coach junior staff.
• Drive business development by sourcing leads, preparing proposals, and presenting work at conferences and publications.
• Execute technical projects and analyses to meet client requirements and deliverables.
• Foster a positive team culture aligned with core values of care, integrity, and progress.
• Align junior team members with strategic objectives and customer needs.
• Contribute to Personal Development Plans for staff.

Requirements

The successful candidate will hold a strong academic background in engineering, science or applied mathematics, and possess deep expertise in material behavior, fatigue, fracture, and contact modeling. You must have a proven track record delivering structural design, stress analysis, and durability projects, as well as extensive experience with commercial FEA tools such as ABAQUS or ANSYS. The role requires the ability to manage projects within quality, budget and schedule constraints, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business growth. Chartered Engineer status or progress towards chartership is expected.

• Hold a Bachelor’s (2:1+) degree, Masters or PhD in engineering, science, or applied mathematics.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of material behavior, thermo‑mechanical fatigue, fracture, crack propagation, and contact modeling.
• Proven experience delivering structural design, stress analysis, durability, and fracture mechanics projects.
• Proficient in commercial FEA software (ABAQUS, ANSYS) and able to create custom methods via user‑defined functions.
• Familiarity with relevant structural integrity assessment and design codes.
• Ability to manage engineering projects with attention to quality, budget, and schedule.
• Confident in supporting growth of structural capability within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience mentoring and coaching junior engineers and other leaders.
• Strong customer focus and ability to expand business networks in regulated industries.
• Chartered Engineer status or active progress toward chartership.
