Supports the Development team by acting as subject matter expect on development items that involve interconnection processes, infrastructure, cost, and additional work as needed
Reviews, comments, & summarizes injection, feasibility, system impact, and facilities study reports
Creates preliminary interconnection documentation and models AC system parameters as appropriate as inputs to the project design
Manages, reviews, & interprets injection studies performed by third party consultants
Manages of 3rd party consultants, as required
Supports the Delivery team by aligning project milestones, ensuring compliance with interconnection agreements and regulations, and submitting necessary documentation to utility/ISO/RTO
Reviews interconnection agreements to ensure schedules, cost, equipment, and additional commitments align with internal stakeholders
Occasional travel to project sites
Maintains a strong understanding of the technical and procedural requirements for the interconnection process in target markets
Supports the Real Estate Origination team to identify technically feasible and economically advantageous interconnection points on the grid
Supports the modeling of project economics by supplying technical and financial model inputs for greenfield development and acquisition due diligence
Supports the interconnection process for TerraForm Power projects including interaction with interconnection utilities and ISOs, scoping calls, etc.
Interprets interconnection study results and negotiates with the utility to achieve economic interconnection solutions
Develops standards, processes, tools to guide the interconnection workflow and calculate relevant system parameters
Performs cost/benefit analysis of interconnection variants to optimize project economics and minimize interconnection risk
Submits interconnection requests to the applicable utility/ISO/RTO
Develops and manages TerraForm Power’s Interconnection database

Familiarity with Dominion Energy, AEP, PJM, and SERC markets and interconnection processes a significant plus
Broad technical understanding of transmission and distribution systems, including the ability to perform cost-benefit analyses of design variants to optimize project outcomes

Software Experience preferred: AutoCAD, power flow modeling software (TARA, PSSE, or similar)
Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to quality work product
Ability to interpret RTO/ISO tariffs and regulations, equipment data sheets, construction drawings and project documentation for technical requirements
Proven communication and interpersonal skills necessary for community building internally, and trust building externally
