We are seeking Wildlife Biologists to provide as‑needed support for projects throughout the Central Valley, from Sacramento to Bakersfield. The role is aimed at experienced biologists (3–10+ years) with strong field expertise in Central Valley ecosystems, offering opportunities to contribute to high‑impact utility, infrastructure, and development projects. Senior‑level candidates may lead field teams, oversee complex compliance efforts, mentor junior staff, and serve as subject‑matter experts.
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, botany, ecology, environmental science, or a related field and have at least three years of biological fieldwork, including compliance monitoring and experience with Incidental Take Permits. They must demonstrate expertise in Central Valley ecosystems, familiarity with federal and state environmental laws, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility to work extended hours, the ability to hike 6–8 miles per day carrying up to 25 lb of equipment, and a willingness to mentor junior staff are also required.
The hourly rate for this as‑needed position ranges from $35 to $65, based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities, with base pay determined by internal equity and market benchmarks. Candidates must pass a pre‑employment drug screening, and those assigned to federal projects will undergo additional testing in compliance with the Drug‑Free Workplace Act. Rincon Consultants is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms without a signed contract.
