What you would be doing

  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies
  • Operating a wheel loader in a confined space to muck headings and load haul trucks.
  • Work with explosives and the blasting process to facilitate production.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Operating a face drill and/or roof bolter in an underground hard rock mine.
  • Running a scaler or an excavator with scaler attachment to scale rock from mine walls.
  • In addition to operating equipment, this individual may be required to work with the blasting process or on the ground maintaining safety items and keeping the mine well ventilated. General work around the quarry and other assigned duties may also be required. Assigned duties will include:

  • Must pass pre-employment drug-screening.
  • Willing to work with explosives and the blasting process – valid TN Explosive Handlers Card or Blasting Permit – or ability to obtain/renew those permits.
  • Willing to work in an underground mining environment.
  • Day Shift
  • At least one-year of proficient experience operating underground mining equipment – such as a face drill, scaler, roof bolter, or loader – is preferred.
  • Self-motivated - able to work without requiring close supervision.
  • The successful candidate for this role will have experience operating mining equipment in an underground mining environment, and an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
  • Must be able to work underground and outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Able to operate underground mining equipment with precision and excellence in a confined space.
  • Ability to pick up on new tasks quickly.
