The Journeyperson Electrician reports to the Production Supervisor and works for Silent‑Aire Limited Partnership, a Johnson Controls subsidiary. The role focuses on installing, terminating, and maintaining conduit, cable, panels, sensors, and control components, as well as fabricating control panels and wiring systems. This position also performs wiring check‑outs and ensures compliance with relevant codes and safety standards.
Daily duties include interpreting blueprints and schematics, following vendor manuals, completing work orders, and maintaining accurate maintenance reports. The electrician mentors junior staff and apprentices, inspects their work, and contributes to preventative and predictive maintenance scheduling. They also monitor parts usage and propose modifications to improve system efficiency.

Required qualifications include a valid Journeyperson Electrician licence, ability to read technical drawings, and experience with troubleshooting, assembling, and repairing machinery. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Experience supervising apprentices and familiarity with quality standards are preferred.
The role involves physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lb, long periods of standing, and working in commercial/industrial environments with natural hazards. Safety compliance with the Silent‑Aire safety program, Alberta OHS regulations, NEC, NESC, NFPA, and UFC is mandatory, and protective equipment must be worn.
