The Groundman is responsible for keeping the quarry operating continuously by performing regular maintenance, repairs, and general labor on quarry machinery and equipment. This includes conducting routine inspections, carrying out preventative maintenance according to schedule, and addressing any wear or malfunction that could disrupt production.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance within an industrial environment, with specific skills in electrical systems, plumbing, and welding.
Candidates must demonstrate strong problem‑solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to perform complex repairs under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective independent work and teamwork, along with a solid commitment to safety and knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional technical training or a vocational degree is a plus. Applicants must be able to operate various types of plant machinery safely and be willing to undergo SRM’s pre‑employment screenings.
The work environment involves regular physical activity such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, and exposure to noise, dust, and outdoor weather conditions.
