The Project Quality Engineer will execute project quality activities for GEH Advanced Nuclear projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and internal GEH requirements.
Key responsibilities include performing quality activities for advanced nuclear projects, collaborating with suppliers to define specific quality requirements, and developing inspection, verification, and qualification processes. The role also provides technical guidance to suppliers, resolves quality concerns, executes supplier quality surveillance, dispositions non‑conforming products, and writes and reviews technical quality documents, plans, and procedures while supporting error prevention through corrective‑action processes.
Required qualifications are an Associate's degree (or a high school diploma/GED) combined with at least eight years of nuclear industry experience and a minimum of four years in engineering, manufacturing, or nuclear quality assurance roles. The preferred work location is GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, though remote U.S. candidates are considered, and up to 40% travel to supplier and customer sites may be required.
Desired qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, knowledge of nuclear customers and industry programs, and a strong nuclear safety culture. Experience with non‑destructive examination, ASME codes, welding issues, electrical/electronics standards, analog and digital control systems, safety lifecycle for instrument and control systems, PLC programming, SCADA, and quality inspections is valued. Familiarity with ASME NQA‑1, CSA N299/N285, ISO‑9001, and holding a Quality Lead Auditor certification are also desirable, along with strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and multitasking abilities.
The position offers a base salary ranging from $93,500 to $155,900, with potential performance bonuses, variable incentive compensation, and geographic differentials.
