Staff Geotechnical Engineer

Description

construction oversight. This position will also assist with review and compilation of geotechnical laboratory and field-testing results, perform geotechnical analyses and report writing.

• Perform geotechnical engineering analysis under supervision including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, and geologic hazard evaluation.
• Assist with lab testing assignment, compilation of lab and field testing results.
• Assist the Project Engineers/Managers and prepare geotechnical reports.
• Assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance, coordination with drilling contractors, supervision of drilling and geotechnical field investigations, logging of borings and test pits.

Requirements

The right candidate for this opportunity will be self-motivated and have 4-6 years of geotechnical engineering or geology experience. In this position you will assist the Project Engineers/Project Managers and participate in execution of field investigation and potential

• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Mining Engineering, or Geology.
• MS Geotechnical Engineering/Geology is a plus
• Positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
• An ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
