The Cash Applications Specialist ensures that payments are applied to customer accounts promptly and accurately. The role works closely with customers, field divisions, corporate teams, and the lockbox to investigate unidentified payments and resolve discrepancies.
Key duties include posting cash receipts to the correct division, account, and invoice, and reconciling daily receipt files against lockbox totals. The specialist assists field personnel in researching cash‑related items, communicates with customers about short‑paid balances, and collaborates with the team to identify root causes and propose solutions. Additional responsibilities may involve supporting other accounts‑receivable functions and special projects as workload permits.
Candidates should have multi‑division accounts receivable processing experience, at least two years of high‑volume data entry, and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills such as VLOOKUPs and pivot tables. A high school diploma or GED is the minimum educational requirement.
