The Senior OSP Construction Manager will work in Vero's Operations department in Columbus, Ohio, overseeing large‑scale telecommunications OSP cable projects, primarily underground fiber installation, inside plant construction, and utility make‑ready.
In this role the manager serves as the construction expert for dark‑fiber deployments, handling vendor selection, on‑site management, drawing reviews, and coordination among subcontractors, installers, and customer representatives.
- Manage telecom construction projects, covering scheduling, reporting, customer interaction, and vendor management.
- Lead deployment meetings and coordinate with engineering, permitting, and construction contractors.
- Maintain project documentation and reporting.
- Ensure project schedules meet milestones and deadlines.
- Oversee deliverables, budget, and invoicing to support the Project Manager.
- Handle materials ordering, procurement, receiving, and chain of custody.
- Secure and coordinate project inspectors, providing inspection support as needed.
- Assist the Project Manager with proposal development and contract execution.

The position requires extensive travel to project sites and close collaboration with cross‑functional teams—including engineering, permitting, and construction contractors—to ensure project milestones, budgets, and schedules are met.
Candidates must have at least seven years of telecommunications construction experience, with proven expertise in fiber/OSP/back‑haul projects, public right‑of‑way work, and knowledge of NESC, NEC, OSHA, and related permitting processes.
Physical demands include working safely in active construction zones, navigating uneven terrain, and performing extended desk work; up to 25 % travel is expected.
- Minimum seven years of telecommunications construction experience.

- Public Right of Way construction experience.
- Knowledge of Outside Plant construction techniques and testing equipment (Bidi OTDR, Power Meter).
- Working knowledge of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards.
- Experience with budget development and execution.
- Understanding of construction management processes and engineering/permits procedures.
- Ability to read OSP construction drawings and permit documents.
- Strong problem‑solving, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Google Suite/MS Office, GIS, and project management software.
- Up to 25% travel required.
