HVAC Maintenance Apprentice

Description

• Follow all Encon Service Standards related to Safety, Responsiveness, Accuracy, Professionalism, Productivity, and Teamwork.
• Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean, safe, and operable condition.
• Inspect jobs upon completion to ensure work areas are clean, safe, and professional.
• Assist in diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment, including filter changes, belt replacements, lubrication, coil cleaning, and general equipment inspection.
• Receive, complete, and document work orders in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.

Requirements

• High moral standards, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to bend, crawl, stoop, stretch, and reach for extended periods.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
• Strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools common to the HVAC industry.
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces and navigate active job sites.
• Professional demeanor and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, such as mechanical rooms, attics, crawl spaces, and basements.
• Prior experience with mechanical systems or building trades (automotive, carpentry, facilities, fabrication, etc.) is a plus.
• Ability to operate a computer and software applications, including email and work-order management platforms.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Encon is a drug-free workplace and requires post-offer, pre-employment drug testing.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to safely work at elevated heights, including rooftops, ladders, and platforms.
