In this role you will provide design solutions and assessments for new, updated and modified process systems, structures and components. You will prepare and review design documents for nuclear power plants, including calculations, requirements, assessments, technical specifications, drawings, bills of materials and system code classifications. Thermal‑hydraulic evaluations on complex systems, engineering packages, quotation requests and tender technical evaluations will also be performed, along with support for engineering proposals.
You will interface with internal and external stakeholders, ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements, and adhere to project delivery schedules. Site walk‑downs, visits and meetings are required to support construction or commissioning activities.
Candidates must hold an accredited engineering degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science and be a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario. A minimum of five years’ experience in process‑system design/analysis—preferably for CANDU, BWR or PWR plants—is required, together with experience in heat‑balance and thermal‑hydraulic evaluations, process layout, and knowledge of nuclear codes such as CSA N285.0, ASME Section III, CSA B51 and ASME B31.1. Proficiency with analytical tools like ANSYS, Mathcad, Flomaster, NUCIRC or CATHENA and strong communication and technical writing skills are essential.
