  • Disposal of hazardous waste in appropriate waste container and transport to central accumulation area
  • Maintain required records for safety training, safety inspections, and other EHS tasks.
  • Manage safety shoe and prescriptive eyewear programs.
  • Lead incident/injury investigations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Perform health and safety inspections, assessments, and audits
  • Conduct training including but not limited to new hire orientation, compliance, forklift, scissor lift, LOTO, Machine guarding, chemical hygiene, etc.
  • Develops project plans and timelines based on strategic EHS goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate, review, and monitor non-routine work activities that have the potential to adversely impact operations, the environment, or health & safety.
  • Administer EH&S programs driving participation, data entry, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Partner with departments to recognize hazards and prevent injuries.
  • Answer questions and assist associates, supervisors, and contractors on EHS related matters.
  • Educate and train project team members in safety requirements, best practices in incident preventions.
  • Coordinate hazardous waste shipments
  • Support achievement and implementation of OSHA and other regulatory agency requirements.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.
  • Managerial Courage: Willing to say what needs to be said, take a tough stand, and give candid / frank feedback when necessary.
  • Strong Organizational Agility: Must be comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment and influencing without authority.
  • Two years of general industry safety experience strongly preferred.
  • Change Management: A combination of mental flexibility, creativity, conceptual ability and judgment. Ability to lead and manage change process for the organization effectiveness.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups
  • Bachelor’s degree in Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Chemistry, or Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • OSHA 30 General Industry strongly preferred.
  • Experience conducting incident evaluations to identify root cause and corrective actions.
  • 5 - 7 years of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) experience and/or chemical safety in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Strong interpersonal savvy: A good listener with outstanding interpersonal qualities and a natural, effective consultative style. Someone who is sought out for their opinions and counsel and who can forge and maintain close relationships, both internally and externally. A highly-motivated team player who contributes to an atmosphere in which people work together, enthusiastically and effectively, in producing outstanding results.
