Description

• Support Engineers in developing mechanical system layouts for HVAC, piping, process, and utility systems.
• Perform limited on-site construction inspections to confirm compliance with design intent.
• Conduct field measurements to verify existing or as-built conditions.
• Ensure drawings meet established CAD and Revit standards and internal quality procedures.
• Prepare plans, drawings, 3D models, specifications, and quantity take-offs using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD software.
• Process preliminary design data and assist in preparing documents for all stages of design development.
• Recommend updates to design standards, workflows, or practices for improved efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure designs align with project requirements.

Requirements

We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the planning, design, and detailing of mechanical systems for a variety of industrial and commercial projects. This position involves developing detailed drawings and design packages for both new construction and upgrades to existing facilities. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on design experience, strong technical drafting skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and drawing production standards.
• Diploma or technical degree in Mechanical Drafting, Design Technology, or a related field.
• Ability to perform basic calculations related to mechanical layouts and system design.
• Eligible to work in Canada (no licensing requirements for this position).
• General knowledge of mechanical equipment and construction materials.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Previous experience performing or assisting with site inspections.
• Minimum 3 years of experience using AutoDesk Revit or other 3D CAD software within the design or construction industry.

Benefits

Salary Range: $65,000 – $110,000 CAD (depending on experience)

This position offers a competitive annual base salary of $65,000 – $95,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
