Full Stack Developer - Geospatial

Description

• Collaborate with data scientists and GIS analysts to productionize geospatial models and visualizations.
• Develop and maintain GIS-based web applications using Python
• Build responsive front-end interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Developing geospatial or GIS applications along with databases would be preferred
• Be involved in the development life cycle and would be doing definition and feasibility analysis for SLCD. (50% Front end applications, 50% API and database-based development)
• Automate geospatial data processing workflows using Python libraries like ArcPy, Fiona, or PyQGIS.
• Stay updated with the latest GIS and web development technologies and best practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack, from front-end interfaces to back-end data pipelines.
• Integrate geospatial data with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, MySQL, or MongoDB) and RESTful APIs.
• Design and implement interactive, dynamic GIS maps using libraries such as GeoPandas, Shapely, and Folium.
• Troubleshoot issues and solve problems where needed
• Develop and maintain geospatial applications using python environment.
• Client-focused and capable of transforming requirements into product deliveries and subsequent refinement and development Develop and maintain Geospatial databases

Requirements

• RESTful API development experience and Proficiency in Python programming
• Understanding of geospatial data formats (e.g., GeoJSON, Shapefiles, KML) and spatial analysis techniques.
• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with Geospatial knowledge as preferred.
• Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
• Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS Suite (ArcPro, ArcMap) or QGIS for geospatial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of geospatial data management and analysis
• Experience with 5+ years in geospatial software development
• Strong IT and language skills, fluent in English as a minimum (oral and written)
• Experience in web GIS development (Leaflet, Mapbox, Openlayers)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Geospatial engineering (related field)
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Knowledge of spatial databases (PostGIS, SQL, HTML/CSS,Git)
• Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
• Familiarity with databases such as PostGIS, SQL, PostgreSQL
• Experience working in an agile development team
• Delivery quality results on time with minimal supervision
