Security Professional

Description

• Perform security background checks for all personnel requiring unescorted access to a critical infrastructure facility.
• Verify personal and professional information submitted for access authorization.
• Support in-processing and onboarding of staff during peak periods, including outage seasons.
• Provide guidance and interpretation of access authorization and security policies.
• Assess personnel risk to mitigate insider threats, including fraud, theft, workplace violence, and other vulnerabilities.
• Work collaboratively with internal security teams and project leadership to maintain compliant, efficient access processes.
• Apply and follow regulatory procedures and compliance requirements (e.g., NERC, FERC) related to background investigations.
• Conduct analytical work in support of security investigations and re-investigations.
• Adjudicate background investigations and determine suitability for unescorted access.

Requirements

• Nuclear industry experience is a plus.
• Ability to perform analytical tasks and make sound decisions related to personnel trustworthiness.
• Minimum of three (3) years of customer service or administrative experience.
• Experience utility environments strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory processes.
• Must have experience running background checks
• Excellent communication skills and professionalism when dealing with employees, contractors, and security personnel.
• Must be comfortable working onsite in a highly regulated environment.
• High School Diploma required.
