The General Foreman role directs and participates in construction activities, supervising trade workers and helpers while performing job‑cost accounting functions. The position requires planning daily work scopes, estimating crew size and materials, coordinating with project staff, and spending the majority of time in the field to ensure schedule, safety and quality standards are met.
- Enforce job‑site safety and workplace practices per Phoenix policies.
- Prepare and submit time records and productivity reports.
- Plan construction tasks, select tools/equipment/materials, and ensure timely procurement.
- Estimate work scope, crew size, materials, and equipment needed.
- Direct and assign work to crew members, coordinating resources effectively.
- Supervise field work, spending ~90 % of the day on‑site to meet schedule, safety and quality goals.
- Communicate and coordinate with project staff to optimize personnel and equipment usage.
- Perform critical tasks, teach, and work with smaller crews as needed.
- Investigate and report near‑misses, injuries and property‑damage incidents promptly.

Candidates must hold a high‑school diploma or GED, possess at least five years of construction field experience, and have valid first‑aid and supervisor‑training certifications. Strong communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to perform heavy manual labor and operate equipment such as forklifts and hand tools are essential.
- Hold valid first‑aid and supervisor‑training certifications and complete SWPs and safety inspections.
- High school diploma or GED plus 5 years of construction field experience.
- Ability to write clear emails, letters and communicate effectively in meetings.
- Basic computer skills for spreadsheets, word processing and email.
