The General Foreman role directs and participates in construction activities, supervising trade workers and helpers while performing job‑cost accounting functions. The position requires planning daily work scopes, estimating crew size and materials, coordinating with project staff, and spending the majority of time in the field to ensure schedule, safety and quality standards are met.
Candidates must hold a high‑school diploma or GED, possess at least five years of construction field experience, and have valid first‑aid and supervisor‑training certifications. Strong communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to perform heavy manual labor and operate equipment such as forklifts and hand tools are essential.
