PDP Engineering Group Supervisor

Description

• Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements .
• When directed, coordinates with client representatives to obtain their approval of plant design and piping engineering aspects of the work .
• Prepares or oversees the preparation of plant design and piping discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly .
• Reviews and approves key calculations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders for the project to which assigned.
• Plans, develops, directs, and participates in the day-to-day plant design and piping engineering activity on small to medium sized projects or a portion of a major project with minimal to moderate complexity within a global business unit .
• Ensures that assigned plant design and piping personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
• Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of personnel assigned, estimates staffing needs and schedules, and assigns work accordingly.
• Reviews and makes recommendations of the plant design and piping engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering .

Requirements

• Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, materials and software, and methods of application for Plant Design and Piping discipline.
• Must be authorized to live and work in the US without sponsorship.
• High standard of oral and written communication, and use of MSOffice applications.
• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
• Extensive experience developing, managing, and maintaining BIM models with defined LOD specifications (LOD 100-500) for the engineering discipline of Plant Design and Piping.
• Extensive knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods.
• Extensive knowledge of precedents in the discipline and of principles and practices of related disciplines.
• Demonstrated skill in leadership with significant prior supervisory experience required.
• Extensive knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved.
• Willingness to travel and/or relocate to jobsite in support of projects.
• Knowledge of typical Engineering Department Procedures, Design Guides, appropriate Standard Computer Applications and administrative practices.
