In the Sales & Business Development portion (60%–70% of the role), interns conduct outbound prospecting, support account executives with lead research and market mapping, learn to make sales calls and craft outreach messages, assist in preparing proposals and client materials, and participate in sales meetings, deal strategy sessions, and pipeline reviews while shadowing professionals on client calls.
The Recruiting & Talent Sourcing component (30%–40%) involves sourcing and screening candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and internal databases, conducting resume reviews and phone screens, supporting recruiters with interview coordination and communications, and learning the fundamentals of the recruiting lifecycle including client meetings, negotiations, and offers.
Interns also engage in daily and weekly learning sessions on sales tactics and recruiting best practices, complete a capstone project to present at the program’s end, and collaborate with peers on group challenges and business simulations.
Qualifications include being a rising senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree (preferably in sales), having prior customer service, campus leadership, or sales experience, strong verbal and written communication, the ability to build rapport quickly, and a competitive, motivated mindset with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Actalent offers a 10‑week, hourly‑paid summer sales internship designed for high‑energy, sales‑driven students across the United States and Canada.
