As part of the automation team you will support data‑center startups, perform on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, and lead startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems in industries such as food and beverage. You’ll partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate systems on‑site, while providing clear communication and updates to customers and project teams. Typical travel rotations follow a days‑on/days‑off schedule (e.g., 5 on‑2 off, 10 on‑4 off, or 14 on‑7 off).
We’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who prefer being on the move rather than behind a desk. The role is built for people who can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems. Candidates must have a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, as our four‑week paid training will prepare technically skilled individuals for field work.
We seek candidates who love travel and are comfortable being away from home on rotation; we handle logistics and offer relocation assistance. Preferred experience includes working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, along with strong adaptability, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Applicants must live within 50 miles of a major airport, have a personal vehicle within 45 days of employment, be authorized to work in the U.S., and hold a technical degree or equivalent 3+ years of hands‑on experience in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering.
The role requires physical abilities such as walking long distances across large facilities, climbing ladders or working at heights, lifting and moving up to 50 lb, and standing, kneeling, or reaching for extended periods in varied environments, including construction sites and outdoors. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities.
Working with ProAutomated combines travel and work: you’ll visit new cities, tackle unique projects, and earn travel rewards while serving customers across North America. The position offers a starting salary of $60,000–$75,000 (depending on location, education, and experience) plus per‑diem, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses. We also provide paid training, annual merit raises, and a guaranteed 5 % salary increase after six months.
Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401(k), short‑ and long‑term disability, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months. Our people‑first culture emphasizes teamwork, adaptability, humor, and personal recognition; every leader has risen from within, so you’ll have a manager who truly understands the role.
