Description

The Plant Manager role at AZZ’s Hurst facility reports to the Regional Director of Operations and oversees production, maintenance, quality, and personnel. The leader is expected to mentor and develop managers, implement business strategies, and deliver outstanding service to internal and external stakeholders.

• Manage plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, shipping, receiving, and personnel.
• Develop and control profit and loss, business plans, and budget constraints.
• Implement cost‑effective systems for capital, operating expenses, manpower, wages, and salaries.
• Establish and monitor production and quality performance with strict process controls.
• Maintain and, when needed, replace plant facilities and equipment.
• Provide leadership and training to achieve company goals.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Enforce OSHA and other safety regulations.
• Motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency.
• Conduct personnel actions such as evaluations, promotions, hiring, and terminations.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Serve as primary direct report for all facility personnel.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of management experience required.
• Preferred experience in steel fabrication, metal coatings, or hot‑dip galvanizing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and SOPs for heavy industrial equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
