Creating and reviewing Protection & Control detailed designs and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra-high-voltage utility substations

Creating and reviewing detailed designs of Communication or Integration One-Line Diagrams and Front view Panel Diagrams for integrating substation protective relaying with utility specific RTU/ Remote Access / SCADA, managed switches and LAN Communication Equipment.
Act as the OE (Owner’s Engineer) responsible for reviewing designs and supplying the design team with the requested information to complete a project
Perform detailed design of one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling

Experience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Strong knowledge of engineering theory, practices, and procedures
Familiarization or experience with various New England utilities and their associated P&C standards and procedures preferred
Experience in power protection, relay design, and planning, or substation design and telecom integration

6+ years of experience in relay/protection engineering or related industry required.
Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation software preferred
Experience with substation relays and equipment manufacturers such as SEL, GE, Beckwith, electromechanical relays, Ruggedcom switches, and Cimplicity HMIs
Engineer In Training (EIT) registration preferred
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
