You will supervise the site‑based engineering team, manage MV switching operations, coordinate specialist vendor works, and ensure compliance with statutory regulations and service‑level agreements. The position also involves using the Corrigo CMMS to track preventive, reactive and corrective work, preparing shift handover reports, maintaining critical spares, and contributing to continuous improvement and training of engineers.
- Supervise and coordinate the site‑based engineering team, including internal and MEP responsibilities.
- Operate all facility systems competently, including MV switching operations.
- Plan, support and monitor specialist vendor planned, reactive and corrective works, ensuring change‑management approval.
- Ensure compliance with contractual SLAs and statutory regulations for all MEP assets.
- Manage the Corrigo CMMS to complete preventive, reactive and corrective work orders within SLA.
- Produce daily shift handover reports and communicate significant events to incoming teams.
- Control critical spare inventory, audit stock levels and procure needed components.
- Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives for safe systems of work and HSE compliance.
- Coach and develop engineers, delivering training and scenario simulations.
- Conduct quality‑assurance audits on completed work orders (minimum 10 % sample).

The Engineering Shift Leader role is based on‑site in Slough and requires deep knowledge of critical facilities and data‑centre infrastructure (mechanical, electrical, plumbing and related assets). As the lead member of the engineering shift team, you will oversee inspection, operation and maintenance of these assets, prioritize risk management and drive a safety‑first culture.
Candidates must have at least five years’ experience in critical environments such as banking headquarters or data centres, hold HV Authorised Person credentials, and possess relevant electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications (HNC/HND, 17th Edition IEE, C&G Pts 1 & 2, BS 7671). Strong communication, leadership and a proactive attitude are essential, and the role offers opportunities for on‑site and off‑site training.
- Minimum 5 years experience in critical environments (banking HQ, data centres).
- HV Authorised Person certification and experience with high‑voltage systems.
- Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC or HND (or apprenticeship equivalent).
- 17th Edition IEE wiring and installation qualification (ability to attain 18th Edition).
- C&G Parts 1 & 2, C&G 2391 test, BS 7671:2001 inspection and certification knowledge.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead a small engineering team.
- Willingness to undertake on‑site and off‑site training, including nights away.
