Description

• Conduct inventory-related processes, including inventory counts and cycle counts
• Perform loading and unloading operations in compliance with receiving and shipping specifications
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
• Work with company software and computer systems to process orders and inventory
• Report directly to the Warehouse Supervisor in the Shipping and Receiving area
• Perform receiving, picking, packing, and shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper condition of shipments
• Maintain required logs and reports for the Warehouse Supervisor
• Follow all safety rules and guidelines
• Participate in Lean Production initiatives within the organization
• Operate various types of material handling equipment and maintain forklift certification
• Practice servant leadership by valuing diverse perspectives and putting the needs of others first
• Process stock and ship products in accordance with standardized logistical processes
• Carry out responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws
• Receive, pick, pack, and ship various types of Ames products, tools, merchandise, and parts
• Champion an inclusive work environment and empower others
• Move shipments from shipping and receiving platforms to storage and work areas as directed

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions and risk of electrical shock
• Occasional sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts
• Vision abilities including close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions
• Ability to lead, execute, and delegate tasks as needed
• Communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with coworkers and customers
• Frequent lifting and/or moving of up to 100 pounds
• Ability to read and write routine documents and correspondence
• Regular standing and walking
• Ability to solve problems involving a limited number of variables in standardized situations
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
• Frequent use of hands for handling, fingering, reaching, and operating equipment
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• High school diploma or more than one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to interact effectively with personnel at all company levels
