As a General Yard Operative you will pick and sort various scrap materials, keep the site clean, organised and well‑maintained, and operate machinery to move materials around the yard. You will assist with loading and unloading vehicles safely, carry out pre‑checks on equipment, inspect incoming loads for quality, and may act as a yard marshal directing traffic and enforcing health‑and‑safety procedures. You will also support depot management with day‑to‑day requirements.
We are looking for a responsible, proactive and safety‑conscious individual who takes pride in their work and contributes to the smooth running of the scrap site. The ideal candidate is organised, diligent, comfortable working with machinery, and prioritises safety and efficiency while loading and unloading. A ‘can‑do’ attitude, strong teamwork, good customer service skills and the ability to work outdoors in all conditions are essential.
