The Mechanical Critical Facility Technician maintains and repairs complex mechanical systems in data centers, hospitals, and manufacturing plants. Duties include operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, CRAC/CRAH units, and air‑handling units, as well as minor plumbing, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The role requires familiarity with BMS platforms (Niagara Tridium, Siemens, Johnson Controls), the ability to read mechanical, plumbing, and electrical diagrams, and proficiency with CMMS software for tracking work orders.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, have at least six years of work experience with three years in a critical‑facility operation, and possess experience with chillers larger than 300 tons or comparable mechanical systems. They must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and meet the licensing and EPA certification requirements. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package.
The job demands frequent lifting of objects up to 50 pounds, use of a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance, and work at heights up to 60 feet on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders. Employees must regularly walk, climb, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead, and must have good vision (corrected if necessary), color perception, and English communication skills.
