The welder references blueprints, collaborates with the lead to determine job requirements, gathers materials, and performs layout per specifications. They set up and adjust welding machines, operate welding guns on steel, aluminum, copper and other materials, and inspect welds, re‑welding defective joints and cleaning slag. Additional duties include operating cutting torches, applying weld stencils, notifying the lead or inspector when work is ready, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.
- Read blueprints and determine job requirements with the Lead.
- Gather materials and layout work according to specifications.
- Set up, adjust, and operate welding machines and guns on various metals.
- Visually inspect welds, re‑weld defects, and clean slag, flux and spatter.
- Operate cutting torches and plasma cutters as needed.
- Apply weld stencils and notify Lead/Inspector when ready for inspection.
- Perform ongoing housekeeping to keep the work area clean and safe.

Candidates must have proven welding experience and be able to read blueprints. Attention to detail, a strong commitment to quality, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a fast‑paced team are required. Strong communication skills, a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferably a welding certification are desired.
