Lead the conception and design effort on paper converting and packaging systems projects to help clients achieve their objectives
Interface with clients and vendors on a regular basis
During project execution, research and analyze data to make sound design decisions aligned with company, client, and project objectives and applicable codes.
Actively participate in our internal quality assurance process by reviewing and checking process/mechanical group and interdisciplinary work products.
Support the development and growth of key client relationships.
Selection and integration of mechanical/process equipment including: roll handling, slitters, rewinders, roll saws, embossers, printers, conveyors, presses, rollers, cutters, packaging, palletizers, etc.
Support as a lead engineer on major paper converting and packaging systems projects through the study, detailed design, construction support, check out and start-up phases
Drawing from experience, apply theory in a practical context to determine feasibility of design, identify potential process upsets and malfunctions incorporating appropriate remediations, and apply commercially available technology for process execution.
Work in a manufacturing environment conducting field investigations
Support the proposal process by providing scope descriptions, project estimates and deliverables list.
Prepare systems analysis and conceptual designs, layouts, specify equipment, and prepare detailed design packages for bid and installation on paper converting and packaging systems projects.

Understands project scheduling and sequencing of engineering activities.
Experience in TOPs or equivalent software.
Experience working with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and / or ReCap preferred.
Some travelling is required.
Expert knowledge of the pulp & paper product manufacturing process, including various machinery used, processes, and utilities in the converting and packaging of paper products.
7+ years’ experience supporting paper converting and packaging systems projects.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely is important.
Mechanical Engineer with at least 10 years of professional experience.
The ability to manage projects, including coordinating timelines, budgets, and resources, is valuable. Project management skills ensure that designs are executed efficiently and completed within specified deadlines and budgets.
